From Saturday 3 November Safeguard Coaches significantly reduced and simplified every bus fare on its 4 and 5 bus routes.  With the aim of reducing congestion by encouraging people away from car use, the initiative follows on from last month’s fare reduction for all NHS staff working at the Royal Surrey County Hospital (RSCH).  Alongside the fare reduction, all Safeguard’s buses will be able to accept contactless payment through its new ticketing system.

For a limited period, the initiative will see all adult fares reduced to £1.20 for a single fare and £2.00 return; a 1-week season ticket to £7.00 and a 4-week Season ticket to £25.00, irrespective of where the passenger alights on the route. Children aged 5 to 16 and University students will travel for £1.00 (either single or return), with a 1-Week season ticket costing £5.00 and a 4-Week season ticket costing £20.00.
