Safeguard Coaches statement following the Government’s weekend announcement on face coverings.

From 30th November 2021 it is now a legal requirement to wear a face covering, unless exempt, when travelling on public transport.  We would like to remind our passengers of their responsibility to comply with this change, respect the rules and be considerate to other passengers and staff.  Please remember to bring a face covering for your journey as without one you will be unable to travel unless you are exempt.

Our buses continue to be professionally cleaned during the day and night as part of our ongoing enhanced cleaning regime.

To help you travel with confidence, Safeguard vehicles continue to be deep cleaned every day before they start service and often again during the day as well. Highly effective anti-virus techniques such as virucidal fog are used as part of our cleaning regime.  Additionally, touchpoints and exposed surfaces are cleaned throughout the day.

We’ve installed plastic screens to help ongoing shielding of our drivers and provided them with appropriate PPE for everyone’s safety. As a further protection we temperature-test all drivers daily when they report for work and Covid-test them using the Lateral Flow Test (LFT) method every few days.

Hand sanitiser is available on board for customer use and our drivers have face coverings available for customer use.  Please just ask if you would like one for your journey.

We want to keep air flowing so please keep windows open.

Our buses are ventilated best when the windows are open so the air can flow through, so please keep windows open during your journey.

If you’d like to talk to us about any of the above aspects please call us on 01483 561103 (office hours) or email with your query. You can keep up to date with the latest news via our website
